GRADE 2

We love looking at our school garden to see new growth and to observe and discuss the seasonal changes. The grass is plentiful and it is a beautiful green. The trees are all well-watered and showing different signs of life e.g. fruit, sap. As we have all experienced brilliant weather since our return to school this term, the fruit trees will be ready for picking soon and new grass has been planted in areas providing us with more special spots to play on.

Thanks to David, our gardener, for all his work and for making the most use of all the spaces we have in our schoolyard. Thanks for his tour of our garden and explaining to us the importance of making sure our plants receive both water and nutrients for excellent growth and for them to be in a virus free condition.

In class, for Geography we are learning about the differences between globes and maps and studying the map of Australia. In Maths, subtraction and fractions are our topics with Number and Algebra. In Literacy, we are learning the structure of a Narrative Text and having a go in writing our own stories.

Please remember to hear your child read every night, check that homework timeline is being followed e.g. Reading Eggs and Mathletics, and regularly sign their reading journal. It is so important that you support your child with their work daily.

Thank You,
Mrs. Annette Moran
